The Basilica of Saint John

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,

All seems to be going well as we enter into the Fall Season.  Attendance at Mass has been wonderful.  We baptized our 46^th baby for this year recently.  Religious Education and RCIA are off to good starts.

As I mentioned in my previous missives, we had hoped to have begun our needed repairs by now on the Basilica.  There will be a slight delay.  We are working with the diocese and the insurance company about a claim regarding some damage of the roof tiles and we cannot begin any work until this is resolved.  Then we will be able to finalize our contracts.  Some minor work may take place before winter to make sure that there is no leakage until next Spring.  While this delay is unexpected, it will also give us time to continue to save money in our Building and Maintenance Fund.  Please be mindful of this upcoming project and help raise the necessary funds.

The annual Foundation Gala was a great success this year.  We had the most attendance ever and raised a good sum for the Foundation.  There were lots of new faces this year.

As we settle into our more normal routine let us strive to build up our parish family and to truly seek the paths of holiness and goodness.  The Lord bless you all.
