Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ. Baptism is the sacrament of faith. But faith needs the community of believers. It is only within the faith of the Church that each of the faithful can believe. It is the beginning of faith that is called to develop.
